Roots of Hope: The Jajja Flora Rabbitry
In partnership with Rotaract Najjeera, we built a rabbitry at Jajja Flora's Orphanage in Kira — a sustainable source of food and income for the children who call it home.
Roots of Hope: The Jajja Flora Rabbitry
When we set out to support Jajja Flora's Orphanage in Kira, we wanted something that would keep giving long after the ribbon was cut. Working with Rotaract Najjeera, we settled on a rabbitry — a simple, low-cost project the orphanage could manage on its own, providing both food and a small source of income.
It's one of the clearest examples of #TheKiraWay in action: practical, sustainable service rather than a one-off donation. The rabbitry is looked after by the orphanage's caretakers and children, with our members returning for regular check-ins and support.
The project also reflects how we work — alongside other Rotaract clubs rather than alone. Partnering with Rotaract Najjeera meant pooling resources and expertise to make Roots of Hope possible.
